How to enable cookies in Firefox

A cookie is a small string of text stored on a user's computer by a web browser. A cookie consists of one or more name value pairs containing bits of information such as user preferences.

Check to see if browser has cookies enabled or disabled. Click on the following link,

Check browser information

Click on "Show my browser details"

Corresponding to "Cookies" if it says "Supported" that means cookies are enabled for your browser. If it says, cross mark, that means cookies are disabled.

To enable the cookies in Firefox 2.0,

  • Click on "Tools" tab on the top of the browser
  • Click on the "Options" in the drop down menu
  • Click on the "Privacy" option in the left section of the pop up window Expand the "Cookies" section
  • Check the "Enable Cookies" and then check the radio button for "Accept cookies normally"
  • Click on "OK" to save the changes

To enable cookies in Firefox 1.x,

  • Click on "Tools" menu
  • Select "Options" in the drop down menu
  • Select "Privacy" option in the left section of the pop up window
  • Click the "View cookies" in the Cookies area and check the check box next to "Allow site to set cookies"
  • Click on "OK" to save the changes

To enable cookies in Mozilla,

  • Open the "Edit" menu and choose "preferences"
  • Under the "privacy and security" category, choose "cookies"
  • If no subcategories are visible, double click the category to expand the list
  • Select the radio buttons you want to choose for the accepting the cookies
  • Click on "OK" to save the changes
